We are looking for a new fostering panel members in our Midlands region. Suitably qualified and experienced people with a background in foster care (or as care leavers) or with experience in the education and healthcare sectors are needed to undertake this essential role.

The majority of our Foster Panel meetings in this region are held in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, so you must be able to travel to this location and be available on weekends.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work at all times in accordance with the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards 2011
  • Be aware of and embrace the ethos of Credo Care
  • Help ensure that consensus panel recommendations are reached fairly and transparently, keeping carers' and children's welfare of equal importance
  • Help ensure that the panel chairperson and panel members remain independent of the day-to-day business of Credo Care to ensure unbiased decisions are reached
  • Help provide a quality assurance role
  • Engage with senior Credo Care managers when matters are urgent and/or when an additional panel may need to be convened at short notice

Qualifications and experience:

  • You will be able to read lengthy assessments, assimilate the information and make clear concise recommendations
  • You must be dependable and able to organise/prioritise reading of assessments
  • You will be required to attend fostering panel meetings and relevant training
  • You will ideally have knowledge or experience of childcare
  • You display good communication skills

In addition, an ideal candidate will have experience/knowledge of the following:

  • Living in foster care
  • Care planning for looked after children
  • Education of looked after children
  • Being a son or daughter of a foster carer
  • Health and wellbeing of looked after children
  • Having a child in foster care


Remuneration: payment for panel members is £175 per panel.
