Credo Care recruits, trains and supports foster carers to meet the needs of children with disabilities.
We have seen our service grow in to one that not only meets the requirements of Legislative Care Standards but in some areas, exceeds them. We are particularly proud of our groundbreaking initiatives for autistic children, working closely with the National Autistic Society’s Accreditation Programme, which we were awarded in July 2007. We were pleased to be the instigators of this new NAS service and helped them to design their new foster care provider assessment criteria. We were awarded the Investors in People standard in 2004.
Requests are received from Local Authority Social Services Departments to place children when they are unable to continue to live with their parents. The children may need foster care if their parents feel unable to cope with the demands of providing direct care for the child or if the child has been removed for their own safety.
Short-break foster placements can also be purchased directly by parents using “Direct Payments”.
When we place children our staff complete a comprehensive assessment of needs and ensure that the foster carers receive full training and have support systems in place which ensures placements succeed.
Our Head Office in Kent provides the administrative headquarters and also covers the South East. We have two other bases covering London and the Midlands.
