Credo Care has responded to the request from our Foster Carers to increase the “Respite” Holiday Allowance, where they can take a break from their caring duties. This has increased from 14 nights cover to 21 nights per year. Uniquely, Credo Care is very flexible with this allowance and provides this in a number of ways: The foster child can go to another carer for a short stay; one of our workers can move in to the carers home to provide care whilst the carer is away; or if the carers do not want to have time away from the child, we will make an additional payment to the carer.
The new level of allowance starts in January 2008.
