Credo Care is an approved provider of foster care services through the Pan London, South East and the West Midlands Child Care Consortiums. We are happy to provide placements to authorities outside of these areas.
Types of placement
We offer long term, short term and short break placements. We are also able to provide short break placements directly to birth parents using the Direct Payments scheme.
Our commitment to save Local Authorities money
Credo Care has always been keen to help Local Authority budgets to go as far as possible. Our staff are experienced in resettling disabled young people from Residential and Hospital care to Long Term foster care. With our placements, a child develops a sense of routine and belonging which helps thier development, being with one family rather than an ever changing rota of staff with their own way of doing things.
We know we save Local Authorities millions of pounds every year.
To illustrate this, we have placed young people where the Local Authority has paid £4,200 per week for residential accomodation. In a case such as this, we have made substantial savings to the Local Authority where they would save over £140,000 per year, for one child alone.
Furthermore, we usually do not make any extra charges or add-ons for our service, the fee is the fee (unlike many other fostering agencies), which helps Local Authorities to control their spending more effectively.
Placement matching process
Credo Care’s matching process is one that we are very proud of and has certainly been a significant contribution towards us having no placement breakdowns in almost five years. We were commended on this work in our last inspection report.
It is essential that we receive all possible information about a young person prior to placement so that Credo Care and our foster carers can make an informed decision on whether to proceed with the placement or not.
If we go ahead we complete a comprehensive matching report to ensure that all aspects of care can be met thoroughly. If there are any identified gaps in the foster carers skills, we ensure that they are trained specifically in these skills before the child is placed.
Credo Care believes that it is essential for children and carers to be matched comprehensively and that all possible resources are in place prior to placement. This includes specialist medical training and pre-placement work with autism specialist staff.
